One of GneissWare™ Mineral Catalog's strengths is the ability to
quickly add specimens to the catalog, with large amounts of information
provided through predefined, and fully customizable lookup files.
It takes, on average, only about 1½ to 2 minutes to add a specimen to
the catalog.
GneissWare™ Mineral Catalog is designed to be easy to use, and has been constantly evolving for the past 16 years! Many of the features were suggested by our customers. Our in-house programming means that we can provide quick response to any problems or modifications you may want.

The heart of GneissWare™ Mineral Catalog is the catalog where you enter information about each specimen. Plenty of tools are provided to make data entry simple and quick. But, it's simplicity does not affect the powerful ability to fill in information for you, and to make all this catalog information searchable. You can even search and find a word or two, quickly and simply, in any of the 64000 character text fields.

GneissWare™ Mineral Catalog incorporates a detailed locality file which allows extensive information to be kept about each locality. Many of these locality entries are fully searchable. To simplify locality entry, a comprehensive database of 204 country names and their respective states/provinces (3450 of them) are pre-entered and available to select, all without having to type anything. Up to 64000 characters of field notes, research and other text can be included. Links to Mindat.org make it easy to keep your references up-to-date.

Lookups are a powerful feature of GneissWare™ Mineral Catalog. Many different types of information are kept in these files and are available to simplify entry of catalog and locality information. Over 3700 detailed mineral descriptions (with preloaded links to Mindat.org) are included, as are over 204 modern countries and 3450 predefined States.

GneissWare™ Mineral Catalog makes creating Reports and Labels easy. Almost any piece of information you have entered can be used to select specimens, by simply filling in a form. A variety of predefined reports and labels are included, which can be customized, allowing a wide variety of output. You can also save and change your searchs. Only a few examples are shown; many other variations are possible.
