Santa Eulalia Mining District, Aquiles Serdan, Chihuahua, Mexico
DESCRIPTION:
A classic Calcite from this famous Mexico locality, these highly distinctive calcites were found over 50 years ago in the Santa Eulalia Mining District of Mexico in the 1950s or 1960s. The specimen consists of multi-generational Calcite, with Hematite-coated dogtooth Calcites to 1.7 cm long partially overgrown with complex rhombs of gemmy clear Calcite to 1.8 cm across. These clear Calcites have bright orange fluorescence. Examples of this particular find are only seen coming out of an old collection. I acquired it in 1978 for my collection.
