Bornite Chalcopyrite
$50
LOCATION:
Bawana Mine, Rocky Mining District, Rocky Range, Beaver County, Utah, USA
DESCRIPTION:
An early ore sample from the Bawana Mine, which was opened in 1960. Iridescent blue Bornite and brassy Chalcopyrite are well exposed. A.M. Buranek (Salt Lake City, UT geologist) acquired this sample in the 1960s, and I acquired it in 1973. This is an interesting example from a obscure locality for minerals, and a nice piece of Utah mining history.
