Quartz on Barite

Murray Mine, Independence Mountains District, Independence Mts., Elko County, Nevada, USA
DESCRIPTION:
Grey Barite crystals to 1.7 cm, mostly coated by sugary, white Quartz crystals from this famous Nevada mine. Minor black needle of Stibnite accent both the front and bottom of the specimen. The bottom is also crystallized. Collected in March 2000 by Casey and Jane Jones from the Sugarbowl Pocket in Zone 4, Level 175, Drift 13. From Casey Jones personal stash, this is an excellent example of these classic *sugar-cube* Barites, in perfect condition.
