Scrutinyite on Quartz

Sold

LOCATION:

Blanchard Mine, Hansonburg District, Bingham, Socorro County, New Mexico, USA

DESCRIPTION:

Sparkling-black, opaque microcrystals of Scrutinyite richly cover Quartz points to 6 mm across, which are also covered with a sparkly unknown golden coating, as well. This provides a nice contrast with the Scrutinyite. Scrutinyite is a rare secondary lead oxide, and the Blanchard is the type locality. This is an excellent and more attractive than most of these specimens.
