Shangulowe Mine, Katanga Province, Democratic Republic of Congo
DESCRIPTION:
A lustrous, gemmy, chisel-shaped crystal of Barite measuring 30 x 10 x 9 mm with green inclusions of Malachite is aesthetically-perched on dark contrasting matrix. Botryoidal masses of rich-green Malachite provide a great matrix accent. These unusual Barites came out of the Shangulowe Mine in the mid 1990s, and quickly disappeared from the market. This is a an exceptionally-aesthetic specimen in excellent condition.
