Calcite on Quartz

This is an excellent specimen of Calcite from Guanajuato. A large rhombohedral Calcite measuring 26 x 26 x 26 mm is aesthetically perched atop a matrix of sharp, white Quartz points to 2 mm across, and several smaller Calcites are nestled down in the matrix. The Calcites show sharp twin striations. This fine old specimen dates to about the mid-1960s, when the Earl Calvert collection was assembled. In perfect condition. ex. Earl Calvert collection. Purchased in 1999 for my personal collection.
