Kabwe Mine (Broken Hill Mine), Kabwe District, Central Province, Zambia
DESCRIPTION:
A nice cluster of sharp, well-defined, orange-brown, prismatic crystals to 8 mm of the rare hydrated zinc phosphate, Hopeite. The very best specimens come from the famous Broken Hill Mine of Zambia. This is a rich specimen with Ed Swoboda's original thumbnail mounting and label showing Rhodesia. It was held back by Ed for nearly 20 years, when I purchased it in the early 1990s for my personal collection. In perfect condition.
