Fluorite on Quartz

$2500

LOCATION:

Grimselpass, Bern Canton, Switzerland

DESCRIPTION:

Two octahedral, rich-pink. translucent Fluorite crystals are perched upon a plate of light smoky Quartz. The largest crystal, at 1.7 cm, is cleaved on one corner but is difficult to see due to twinning. The second crystal, measuring 1.6 cm, is pristine. Many smaller, pale-pink Fluorite octahedra cover the plate. A great specimen from a famous Swiss locality. Collected by Swiss strahler Kaspar Fahner, who lives in Halisberg near Interlaken, in the 1980s. Purchased for my personal collection in 2003.
