Sphalerite with Calcite

DESCRIPTION:

This is a superb example of Sphalerite from Greece. The crystals are very large for the locality (up to 19 mm), and are sharp and lustrous. Olive-green color can be seen through some of the crystal edges. A clear 10 mm Calcite crystal provides a nice accent. This is the highest quality in Greek Sphalerite, and is from the classic Greek locality which closed in 1974. Only minor peripheral damage where removed.
