Anatase on Quartz

near Vivelid, Ullensvang Statsallmenning, Hordaland Fylke, Norway

DESCRIPTION:

A perfect, sharp, well-formed, dipyramidal, black Anatase crystal with mirror-bright faces and a well-developed pinacoidal termination, is aesthetically placed on a matrix of nearly colorless fine quartz crystals. This doubly-terminated Anatase is 10 x 6 x 6 mm in size. The high luster makes this difficult to photograph. Collected by Torgeir Garmo, this is a superb and very attractive thumbnail with no damage.
