Quartz on Chalcopyrite and Sphalerite

DESCRIPTION:

A sharp Quartz crystal, measuring 27 x 6 x 6 mm, with a well-developed sceptered head stands above a matrix of brassy Chalcopyrite crystals to 18 mm and dark Sphalerites to 7 mm. Numerous other slightly-milky Quartz points, some doubly terminated accent the sulphide matrix. The steep vertical orientation of the scepter Quartz makes for a striking, and damage-free specimen from this famous Peruvian locality.
