Fluorite
$35

Afton Canyon area, Cady Mts., San Bernardino Co., California, USA
DESCRIPTION:
Lustrous, translucent, light-green, intergrown octahedrons of Fluorite to 16 mm are partly wrapped around a piece of matrix. California is not known for producing Fluorite, and there are only two localities that produce green (and octahedral!) Fluorites - this locality and the Felix prospect in Azusa; both of these localities are now closed to collecting. The Fluorites are accented with smaller, pale Fluorites. It is free of damage except at the margins. Strongly fluorescent in LW, and less so in SW, which is uncommon.
