Fluorite with Quartz and Arsenopyrite

Sold

LOCATION:

Yaogangxian Mine, Yizhang County, Chenzhou Prefecture, Hunan Province, China

DESCRIPTION:

Gemmy blue Fluorite cubes to 36 mm accross, with purple phantoms, are perched on a well-terminated white Quartz crystal measuring 47 x 20 mm, all on a micaceous matrix. Clear Quartz points, sharp silvery Arsenopyrite blades to 12 mm across, and yellowish balls of muscovite provide nice accents. This is an outstanding specimen. The Fluorite is not as lustrous as many of these specimens, but it is also not oiled like most. It is pristine on the display side, and only has damage on the rear where it was removed from its pocket.

SIZE: 108 x 80 x 76 mm overall (Large Cabinet)
with up to 36 mm Fluorite

COLLECTION: ex. Joel D. Cohen collection
