Brookite on Quartz (var. Smoky)

DESCRIPTION:

A matrix of roughly-crystallized light-gray Quartz hosts a few Quartz points to 23 mm long, as well as shiny black pseudo-octahedral Brookite crystals to 11 mm, with some Brookites perched on the Quartz points. Some of the Brookites have a lustrous purple iridescence, and at over 1 cm, they are quite large for the locality. Collected in the late 1980s, it is in excellent condition, and is a high-quality example of classic Arkansas Brookite.
