Brookite on Quartz (var. Smoky)

DESCRIPTION:

A matrix of light-gray Quartz points to 5 mm long hosts well over a hundred shiny black dipyramids of Brookite to 6 mm. This aesthetic and rich specimen is unusually large and more three-dimensional than most from this locality, with a nice undulating surface. I only see a few broken Quartz crystals, which are difficult to see without a 10x loupe. Collected in the late 1980s, it is in excellent condition, and is a high-quality example of classic Arkansas Brookite.
