Sphalerite

$300

LOCATION:

Santa Eulalia District, Municipio de Aquiles Serdan, Chihuahua

DESCRIPTION:

Sharp lustrous black Sphalerite crystal measuring 2.7 cm in size is set nicely upon a limonitic matrix with minor Pyrite. Scattered throughout the matrix are numerous, lustrous-black botryoidal aggregates intergrown with over 2 mm crystals of what appears to be Jarosite. Likely from the Santa Eulalia District, this fine old specimen dates to about the mid 1960s, when this collection was assembled. I have not seen a nicer example. No damage.

         with a 27 x 26 mm Sphalerite crystals

COLLECTION: ex. Paul Edwards collection.
