Hematite ( var. Iron Rose ) with Smoky Quartz

DESCRIPTION:

A classic Hematite iron rose from Brazil, with a larger, silvery-black, platy hexagonal crystal with a mirror-like luster, and with smaller Hematite plates arranged in rosettes on the face of the larger crystal. A doubly-terminated crystal of light smoky Quartz, 2.7 cm in length, accents the specimen. The Hematite crystals on the face range from 8 mm to 3.1 cm in diameter. These were brought out by the well-known (and greatly missed) Brazilian collector / dealer Luis Menezes in 1998. Damage free.
