Pyrrhotite on Quartz
1st Sovietskiy Mine, Dal'negorsk, Primorskiy Kray, Russia
$600

Large Cabinet
111 x 60 x 42 mm
This fine Dal'negorsk specimen hosts two distinct habits of Pyrrhotite. An isolated, sharp, lustrous, bright brass-colored pseudo-hexagonal doubly-terminated Pyrrhotite, measuring 25 x 17 mm in size, is nestled in a matrix of clear needle Quartz points to 18 x 2 mm. A second, 52 mm wide, brassy Pyrrhotite of tabular habit, and capped with iridescent brassy Chalcopyrite crystals to 10 mm, is perched on the edge of the specimen, and is flanked by blades of white Calcite to 22 mm across. This is an excellent and aesthetic specimen. No damage.
