DESCRIPTION:
A large, sharp, brownish-red dodecahedral Almandine garnet crystal, measuring 36 x 33 x 26 mm, hosts a smaller 15 mm garnet perched atop it. Small amounts of the contrasting Muscovite schist matrix remain. The Almandines are nearly damage free. Purchased from Egil Andreassen in 1997, this is a very aesthetic specimen.
