DESCRIPTION:
A single, highly-lustrous, sharp, dark, textbook-shaped dodecahedral Almandine garnet crystal, measuring 44 x 40 x 29 mm, with silvery Muscovite accents. Only trivial damage is visible with a 10 x loupe. Because of the luster, it is difficult to photograph, with lots of reflections on the faces -- in person, it looks shiny black. Purchased from Egil Andreassen in 1997, this is a top quality single garnet from this famous Norwegian locality.
