DESCRIPTION:
A large, sharp, dark-red (to nearly black) dodecahedral Almandine garnet crystal, measuring 40 x 35 x 25 mm, is perched on contrasting muscovite schist matrix, and is complemented by several smaller garnets. The larger and one of the smaller garnets has a small area of damage, but the specimen still displays well. This is a large crystal for the locality, and was collected by Harald Kvarsvik in the mid 1990s.
