Dioptase on Chrysocolla

24 x 17 x 9 mm overall

Well-formed, lustrous green Dioptase crystal with a well-developed pinacoid termination, to 5 mm long, is nestled in a sky-blue Chrysocolla-lined pocket in dark quartzite matrix. This is one of a small batch of specimens collected in May 1992 by Pat, who was a shift boss at the Ray Mine. I acquired the entire lot a few days later. No damage.
