DESCRIPTION:
A cluster of sharp, lustrous, metallic-dark-gray, intergrown octahedrons of Magnetite to 26 mm totally cover a matrix of solid Magnetite, accented with traces of lemon-yellow apatite and milky-white Quartz (var. Chalcedony). The luster of the Magnetite is brighter than typical for this locality. Except along the margins, this specimen is quite free of damage, and is a great example from this classic Utah locality. Under SW UV, the Apatite fluoresces red and the Chalcedony a bright green.
