DESCRIPTION:

Rhombs of translucent Calcite to 15 x 10 mm, with satiny luster, richly cover this attractive specimen from a large concretion. Many of the Calcites have dark bands accenting their edges, and some are partly coated with dark-red hematite. The iron-stained matrix, in shades of red to yellow, provides nice contrast. It is in excellent condition, with only one small chip I can see with a 10x loupe. Collected by Amanda Adkins (of Prospector's fame) on July 30, 2013.
