Turquoise (pseudo Aquamarine)
Apache Canyon Mines, Halloran Springs District, Turquoise Mts, San Bernardino Co., California, USA
Sold

Miniature
44 x 33 x 28 mm overall
14 x 11 mm crystal
A large, sharp, well-formed crystal of blue-green Turquoise, measuring 14 x 11 mm, which pseudomorphs a doubly-terminated, hexagonal, barrel-shaped Beryl crystal. It has been expertly exposed from its Quartz-rich matrix, with just a few traces of Quartz on the top of the crystal. These are hard to get out of the matrix intact and this is a very good one, in excellent condition, with deep coloration. This is about the largest produced from this locality. The mines are owned by the Nazelrod Family, and limited production is still done mainly with hand tools.
