Hematite ( var. Eisenrose ) on Adularia with Rutile and Quartz

DESCRIPTION:
A large Adularia crystal hosts a single lustrous black, blocky Hematite (variety Eisenrose) crystal measuring 48 x 33 x 23 mm in size. It is accented with Rutile and Quartz. This excellent specimen is from the Don Boydston collection, which was mostly unknown to the collector community after Don went into seclusion in the 1960s, and was brought to market in 2005, when John Seibel got the collection after an estate sale. Don purchased it from Scott Williams Minerals Company (Scottsdale). Like every piece in the Boydston collection, this is a top-notch specimen, and I have enjoyed it for over 20 years.
