Malachite stalactite
Sold

LOCATION:
L'Etoile du Congo Mine (Star of the Congo Mine), Lubumbashi, Katanga (Shaba), Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaire)
DESCRIPTION:
Lustrous, rich-green Malachite forms a series of stalactite growths. With the exception of one broken finger, which shows the concentric growth patterns, all the fingers are pristine. In 2002, the Gobin brothers recovered a small lot of these, and I was one of the first to see them in Tucson in 2003, where I acquired this piece for my personal collection. This is a classic and gorgeous stalactitic Malachite specimen from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
SIZE: 50 x 43 x 28 mm overall (Miniature)
