DESCRIPTION:

Lustrous, cubic, green Fluorite crystals to 20 mm, some as interpenetrating-twinned pairs are accented with transparent, colorless Quartz crystals to 4 mm, all on gray limestone. The Fluorite crystals are exceptionally sharp and many have perfect transparency. They strongly fluoresce violet under SW UV. There is minor chipping around the margin, and the specimen bas a sawn base. This is from what is probably the oldest location for green Fluorite in the Weardale area. It is an ex Larry Conklin specimen, priced at $750 in 1981.
