Fluorite

Sold

LOCATION:

Annabel Lee Mine, Cave-in-Rock District, Hardin County, Illinois, USA

DESCRIPTION:

Lustrous, sharp cubes of Fluorite to 41 x 28 x 24 mm with excellent and unusual color zoning. The interior core is a translucent yellow interior, with a deep gold band near the top of the yellow zone of the largest Fluorite crystal. The yellow core has a thin deep-purple layer atop it, and a thicker band of seemly clear, but likely palest-purple, Fluorite caps all the interior zones. I see only one very minor chip with a 10x loupe on this seemingly floater specimen. It is ex. Joe and Susan Kielbaso collection, and is a exceptional example from this famous Illinois locality.

SIZE: 56 x 49 x 28 mm overall (Miniature)

COLLECTION: ex. Carolyn Seitz collection;
