Brookite on Quartz (var. Smoky)

DESCRIPTION:

This very aesthetic matrix specimen consists of clear-smoky to opaque-light-gray Quartz points to 14 x 9 mm hosting some very lustrous, very sharp, mirror-bright, black Brookite crystals to 10 mm. These Brookites, at over 1 cm, are quite large for the locality, and the largest one has an atypical habit. Collected in the late 1980s, it is in excellent condition, and is a high-quality example of classic Arkansas Brookite.
