Brookite on Quartz (var. Smoky)

DESCRIPTION:

This very aesthetic matrix specimen consists of Quartz points to 14 x 10 mm hosting many lustrous, shiny-black pseudo-octahedral Brookite crystals to 12 mm. These Brookites, at over 1 cm, are quite large for the locality. The Quartz points are also atypical - they have the classic light gray color, but are also opaque white on selective faces. Collected in the late 1980s, it is in excellent condition, and is a high-quality example of classic Arkansas Brookite.
