Scheelite on Muscovite

LOCATION:

Mt. Xuebaoding, Pingwu County, Mianyang Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China

DESCRIPTION:

A pair of brilliant-orange, lustrous, sharp octahedral Scheelite crystals are nicely set in pearlescent, bladed Muscovite to 12 mm. The larger Scheelite measures 18 x 12 mm, has good color, is gemmy to translucent, and is accented by a Quartz crystal; the smaller Scheelite is 11 x 7 mm in size, and is very gemmy with good color. Both Scheelites are undamaged. The base is sawed. This is a very nice specimen from this prolific Chinese locality.
