Several intergrown rhombs of translucent, off-white Calcite to 47 mm, with many stepped faces and satiny luster, richly cover this attractive specimen from a large barite concretion. The barite is covered with dark hematite coating, giving an excellent contrast between the matrix and the large Calcites. It is in excellent condition, with no visible damage I can see with a 10x loupe. This excellent specimen was collected by Amanda Adkins (of Prospector's fame) on July 30, 2013.
