Fluorite (Spinel twin)

Chumar Bakhoor, Hunza Valley, Gilgit District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan

Sold
Miniature

60 x 43 x 18 mm overall

This is a superb, gemmy, razor-sharp, flattened, multiple spinel-twinned crystal of Fluorite, measuring 60 x 43 x 10 mm, with light pink core and green edges, associated with minor Muscovite and cream-colored Albite. The Fluorite seems to be very lightly frosted, giving it a satiny luster and good transparency which the photos don't capture. It clearly shows the twin lines as well as what appear to be sharp notched reenterant angles. This is a rare form, complete-all-around floater, and in pristine condition. Fluorite twins of this quality are rarely encountered and are highly sought-after.
