Fluorite

Okoruso Mine, Otjiwarongo Region, Karibib District, Namibia

$250
Large Cabinet

109 x 62 x 28 mm overall

Modified cubes of Fluorite to 20 mm across, with a rich grape-jelly color, completely cover this specimen. The luster is very good, there is some translucency, and some of the Fluorite faces show a light-purple zoning. This is unusual in that it is complete on all edges, and the reverse consists of fine-grained Fluorite - it almost seems to be a cap that formed over some sort of stalactite. From a find in early spring of 2008, it is in excellent condition.
