Cuprite

with 8 mm Cuprite cubes

Lustrous, stepped cubes (to 8 mm) of dark-red Cuprite, cover this specimen, which likely filled a seam. Flashes of red sparkle in the light. It is in very good condition, and is much nicer than the photographs. Cuprite specimens of this size were not common at the Ray Mine.
