Orthoclase ( var. Adularia ) on Smoky Quartz with Gwindel Quartz

Rhone-Gletscher, Ober-Wallis, Switzerland
DESCRIPTION:
Excellent, well-developed Baveno-Manebach twins of Orthoclase (v. Adularia) to 28 mm across, partially covered with green Chlorite, are nestled amongst numerous glassy, slightly smoky Quartz points, measuring up to 48 x 22 mm in size. Several small gwindel Quartz are also present. Formerly in the Anton Berger (1870-1956; Mödling, Austria) private collection, this is an excellent, fine old Swiss specimen from the Earl Calvert collection. With no damage, it has been the centerpiece of my Swiss collection for over 25 years.
