Stibnite
Sold
LOCATION:
Ichinokawa Mine, Saijo, Ehime Prefecture, Shikoku, Japan
DESCRIPTION:
This complex cluster of intergrown bright Stibnite crystals to 5.5 cm is from the famous Ichinokawa Mine, the source of the world's most coveted Stibnites. This is a very 3-dimensional piece with tightly packed crystals, leading to few crystals with complete faces on all sides. The Stibnites from here have an unique bluish cast, which the specimen displays. Although this Stibnite has been in my personal collection since the 1970s, these were produced prior to the 1910s. No obvious damage.
SIZE: 87 x 63 x 34 mm overall (Small Cabinet)
with up to 55 mm Stibnite crystals
COLLECTION: ex. Bob Griffis collection.
Specimen Number: RG0104
