Cassiterite
Usakos, Karibib District, Erongo Region, Namibia
Sold
Thumbnail
20 x 14 x 11 mm overall
This rare pegmatitic Cassiterite from Namibia consists of a sharp, lustrous, nearly-metallic-looking, jet black crystal to 20 mm across. This Cassiterite is pristine and undamaged, and has Ed Swoboda's original thumbnail mounting and label. It was held back by Ed for nearly 20 years, when I purchased it in the early 1990s. Cassiterites of pegmatite origin are not common. These are never seen on the market.
